PALUX supports competition "Kreative Köpfe"
This competition took place for the 13th time. Students from and around Bad Mergentheim showed how ideas can be brought to life. Mrs. Iris Lange-Schmalz, the project manager, presented the idea of this competition to over 70 classes at the end of 2014. Juveniles from different school systems submitted more than 150 ideas – 26 projects were accepted by the jury. 30 experts from local companies supported about 60 students from the age of 13 - 18.
The results were remarkable.
Anna Hoffmann and Paula Friedrich earned 2nd place in the category "conservation of resources". Their product "Topfanne" is a combination of a frying pan and a cooking pot. Both students are 15 years old and study at the Deutschorden-Gymnasium in Bad Mergentheim. At the time of the award ceremony, both students were on an excursion in Rome. Constanze Peterseim, Head of HR at PALUX, and Maximilian Schlachter presented the "Topfanne" live during the award ceremony. The result was remarkable. More than 100 fingerfoods, meat skewers and Mediterranean vegetables were served to the guests.
The siblings Maximiliane (16 years old, Wirtschaftsgymnasium Bad Mergentheim) and Quirin Lorenz (14 years old, Gymnasium Weikersheim) earned 3rd place with their project "Klappe für Dunstabzugshaube". The focus of this project was also the conservation of resources. A flap was integrated into an exhaust hood that opens automatically when the hood is operated. The goal is to keep the air where it belongs until the appliance is used – on the outside.
Jessica Büchhold and Latisha Englert, both students at the Lorenz Fries Schule in Bad Mergentheim, earned 3rd place with their height-adjustable basketball hoop which can be adapted to various conditions.
Many local celebrities and members of the Bundestag Dr. Dorothee Schlegel and Margaret Horb participated in the award ceremony to congratulate the winners. This is a powerful signal to show the importance of this competition.
We congratulate all winners and we are looking forward to next year's ideas!
