22nd Sterne-Cup for Star Chefs and 11th Gastronomy Ski World Cup in Ischgl

As already in the last years, PALUX was again represented in 2019 at the Sterne-Cup for Stars Chefs and the Gastronomy Ski World Cup at the Idalp in Ischgl. Our PALUX team was responsible for the race catering of the participants on the days of the event as usual – with the best support of the Trofana Royal Ischgl kitchen team. In addition, a great sporting success was achieved: our Export Sales Manager for Switzerland, Austria & Liechtenstein, Robby Kocon, took first place among snowboarders in the supplier category!

The event week in the Austrian top ski resort of Ischgl kicked off on Sunday, 7 April with the exclusive kitchen party of Johann Lafer & Friends, which was again initiated by main sponsor Laurent-Perrier and organiser Thomas Schreiner. In the best sunshine on the Idalp show stage around the PALUX kitchen at an altitude of 2,320 metres a relaxed party was celebrated and many culinary highlights were served. Before the gala dinner took place, the 38^th Hornstein Ranking was awarded to numerous star chefs – including some PALUX customers. Of course, in addition to the cooking elite, many celebrities were also present, such as soccer world champion Andreas Brehme, skiing legend Marc Girardelli, ski jumper Dieter Thoma, sports expert Béla Réthy and DJ Guilia Siegel.

On Monday, 08.04., the 22^nd edition of the prestigious Sterne-Cup for Star Chefs took place. Unfortunately the weather was a bit mixed, so for safety reasons only one run of the giant slalom was held on a well prepared slope. The culinary competition took place again in the PALUX show kitchen, consisting of three kitchen units from our modular PALUX Topline series. More than 50 star and top chefs from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and South Tyrol showed all their skills.

Review: 11th Gastronomy Ski World Cup

A total of 267 restaurateurs, hoteliers, chefs, hotel students, winegrowers, sommeliers, barkeepers, waiters, suppliers and guests competed on 10 and 11 April for the respective world championship titles at the 11^th Gastronomy Ski World Cup. The professional moderation by the voice of the Ski World Cup, Stefan Steinacher, as well as the perfect slope conditions ensured the best racing and many exciting competitions.

The fact that our PALUX team consists not only of good chefs but also talented athletes was shown at the end of the day. In the team competition of the suppliers we could finish on a good seventh place. In the snowboard competition, our Export Sales Manager Robby Kocon even celebrated the world championship title. Congratulations on this great performance! With this we have raised the bar for the coming year even higher...
